  • Where is the sauna located?
    The sauna is located in West Bay, near the end of the East Pier. The Bayside Sauna, West Bay, East Pier, DT6 4EN.
  • Where can I park?
    There are various car parks located nearby to the sauna. Here are some convenient public parking options, listed in order of closest proximity: The Quayside Car Park, DT6 4ER Bridport Arms Car Park, DT6 4GD East Beach Car Park, DT6 4EW West Bay Road Car Park, DT6 4EW
  • Who can use the sauna?
    Our sauna is open to anyone aged 16 and over. We recommend that individuals with underlying health conditions or those who are pregnant consult with their doctor before using the sauna. It's important to listen to your body, take regular breaks, and stay hydrated. Please note that alcohol is not permitted in the sauna, and we reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who appears intoxicated. You will need to read and sign our waiver form before booking a session.
  • What should I bring?
    Two Towels: Bring one small towel to sit on inside the sauna and another larger towel for drying off afterward. Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout your session by bringing a water bottle. Swimwear: It's recommended to wear swimwear upon arrival for a comfortable experience. Please note, nudity is not permitted in our saunas. Changing Robe: A changing robe will facilitate easy changing before and after your session, and enhance your sauna experience. Suitable Footwear: Flip flops or sandals are advisable for easy changing. Kindly leave all footwear outside or in the designated changing area. Minimal Belongings: Due to limited space, please bring only essential items for your session.
  • Where can I leave my belongings?
    Due to limited space, we recommend bringing minimal personal belongings with you. Upon entering the sauna, there is a small area where you can leave bags and belongings. Please note that The Bayside Sauna takes no responsibility for any damage or loss to clients' property left in this area.
  • Are there changing facilities available?
    We provide a small changing room as you enter the sauna, which also includes an area for you to leave your belongings. To optimize your experience, we recommend arriving with your swimwear on and being prepared to change afterwards with a towel or robe for privacy. Adjacent to the sauna, there is a sheltered public hut that offers additional privacy if needed. Please note that all our experiences include time for changing. If you plan to use the changing room towards the end of your session, we kindly ask that you respect the next booking and complete your change within your allocated time slot.
  • What should I expect from a sauna experience?
    To fully experience the benefits of hot-cold exposure, we recommend spending 10-15 minutes in the sauna, followed by a dip in the sea or a refreshing beach-side splash—and feel free to repeat this cycle as many times as you like during your session. For an authentic sauna experience, you can control the heat and intensity by gently pouring water onto the stove's rocks until reaching your desired level of heat. Please remember to pour the water gently and avoid dumping it directly onto the rocks to ensure a safe and enjoyable sauna experience.
  • How do I book?
    You can book our sauna for private or communal experiences up to 4 weeks in advance. Time slots become available exactly at the designated time on the booking day. For example, if you want to reserve an 8am slot on a Sunday, it opens for booking exactly 4 weeks earlier at 8am on that Sunday. To book, visit our online system and select your desired experience to view available time slots on booking the calendar. If you have trouble selecting a time slot, it may be because: The date or time is not yet open for booking. The slot is reserved for a weekly communal sauna or an event. We are fully booked or closed on that specific date. For communal bookings, use the drop-down menu to select the number of participants. If only one spot is left, it will be clearly indicated. Our booking calendar adjusts in real-time based on daily reservations. This means time slots may shift depending on whether previous sessions were booked for 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. For example, if the 8am slot is booked for a 30-minute session, the next slot starts at 8:30am. If it's booked for a 60-minute session, the following slot begins at 9:00am. This flexibility ensures smooth scheduling for different session lengths.
  • How do I cancel / reschedule my booking?
    Our cancellation policy is designed to accommodate changes in plans while ensuring fairness to all guests. Here are the details: Cancellation Period: You can cancel or reschedule your booking up to 48 hours before your scheduled session. Refunds: Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or reschedule appointments with less than 48 hours notice. No Shows: If you do not attend your booked session without prior cancellation, no refund or rescheduling will be possible. How to Cancel/Reschedule: Please contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled session if you need to cancel or reschedule. Adverse Weather: In the rare event that we need to cancel your booking due to adverse weather, we will contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund. Admission Policy: We reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons or for reasons deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered in these cases. Our aim is to provide flexibility while ensuring the smooth operation of our sauna sessions. For any questions or further clarification, please don't hesitate to contact us.
  • Can I bring my own essential oils or products to use in the sauna?
    For your safety, we kindly ask that you avoid bringing personal essential oils or products into the sauna. Essential oils not certified for sauna use can react unexpectedly to heat, possibly releasing toxins or posing fire hazards.
  • Do you allow alcohol in the sauna?
    Alcohol is strictly prohibited in the sauna. We reserve the right to deny entry to individuals who appear intoxicated. Please note that refunds will not be issued in such instances.
  • Are food and drinks allowed in the sauna?
    Non-alcoholic drinks, especially water for hydration, are permitted in our sauna. We kindly request that these drinks remain in the changing room. For safety and cleanliness reasons, food is strictly prohibited inside the sauna.
  • Is there an age limit for using the sauna?
    For safety reasons, our sauna is accessible to individuals aged 16 and above. We recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before using the sauna, especially for those with underlying health conditions or concerns.
  • How do I report a lost item?
    If you believe you've left something behind, please email us to check if it's been found and arrange for its safe retrieval within 14 days. Lost and found items are kept at the sauna for 14 days. Unclaimed items will either be donated to charity or discarded thereafter.

  • What are the Gift Voucher Terms & Conditions?
    Below are our Gift Voucher Terms & Conditions: Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Each voucher is valid for the amount chosen at purchase. Any difference in price must be paid by the customer upon booking an experience. Vouchers can be used to pay for the whole or any part of an experience online. Gift vouchers are non-refundable. Vouchers need to be used in one transaction and cannot be split across multiple bookings. To use vouchers for multiple bookings, please purchase multiple vouchers. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or used to purchase another gift voucher. Vouchers cannot be combined with other vouchers or used with other promotions and offers. If a gift voucher is used without permission, a replacement will not be provided. Use of a gift voucher constitutes acceptance of our booking Terms & Conditions, which we recommend reading carefully before purchasing. We reserve the right to update and change the terms and conditions of the gift vouchers.
  • How can I purchase a gift voucher?
    You can purchase a gift voucher by following the below steps: Visit our website and navigate to the "Gift Vouchers" section. Choose the amount you wish to purchase for the gift voucher. Add the selected gift voucher to your cart. Go to your cart and click "Checkout". Fill in the required details, including your payment information. Confirm and complete your purchase. You will receive the gift voucher via email, which you can then print or forward to the recipient.
  • How do I redeem a gift voucher?
    You can redeem your gift voucher by following the below steps: Visit our online booking system. Select your desired experience. View available time slots on the booking calendar. During checkout, enter your gift voucher code to apply it to your booking. Complete the booking process.
